Bethersden UK – Gruson France
The Parish Council gives notice of a Community Meeting to be held in Bethersden Village Hall on Tuesday 4th October 2022 at 7pm to discuss the revival of the twinning arrangement proposals between Bethersden and Gruson. Earlier work to formalise the twinning of the two communities was unfortunately badly affected by Covid issues.
A successful outcome for the proposed twinning would give the community, especially our younger people (hopefully with the direct involvement of Bethersden school), the opportunity to interact with the citizens of a village in northern France, 15 minutes south of Lille and similar in size to Bethersden. The twinning would promote informal visits to each other’s villages, to explore language and culture, present opportunities to make new friends and share other mutual interests
